My Reading Pathway

Easy Blog Photo

I am pointing to where I am on the room 17 reading pathway.

I am currently reading at red.

I am working on the following:

  • I know the sounds in the word.
  • I know the letter sounds and some word endings.
  • I can take a breath at a full stop and find the speech marks and question marks.
  • I can read quickly, and make it sound like talking.
  • I can keep looking at the words all the way to the end.
  • I am starting to notice if I say the wrong word and I know to re-read the sentence.

Teacher Voice: "Hunter, I love that you are excited to share your new letters that you are learning such as the letter e and n. These letters are going to help you work out words and make it easier for you to read, well done!" - Miss H

Reading

I am learning to pick books that are a good fit for me in the library.

Student voice: "These books are too hard for me. I don't get books here."

Garden to table programme

Hunter is getting to practice some fine motor skills as he separates the garlic cloves ready for planting.

We are learning to make a habitat for a compost worm.

On our field trip we learned to importance of food, shelter, water and stopping sunlight from going into our compost worms habitats.

Hunter is turning over soil looking for earthworms.

Hunter and Lincoln are ripping up paper (portrait) to create a habitat for their worms.

Logan, Maxwell and Hunter are adding water and soil to the newspaper to make the habitat for their worms.
